It was in the 17th century when lady hats finally started to get their own personality and style. Today lady hats can be seen everywhere in the fashion industry From outstanding fedora and beanie to magnificent cloche and wide-brim hats, choices are unlimited to be the most fashionable lady walking down the street. Pick your favourite one and enjoy the bliss of fashion!

Choosing The Right Lady Hat

To select the right hat for you, first you need to become familiar with the different types available out there.

Wide brim hats

Wide brim hats are highly used during the summer season by women to protect their face from the sun. Also called sun hats, floppy hats or straw hats, depending on the style, a wide brim hat can be worn casually or in more formal settings.

Beret

This type of lady hat has been worn for centuries, but it was only in the 1990s when it really become popular. Today, the beret is one of the most popular hats and is commonly used by women during winter. Mostly used for fashion purposes, the beret is also worn sometimes as a military headgear or for religious reasons.

Beanie

Also used mostly used during the winter season, beanie hats are soft rounded caps often made from wool or cotton. But they can also be made of other materials such as silk and leather. A beanie hat was quite popular in the mid-1990's and still present in fashion today.

Cloche hats

These hats fluctuate in popularity, but you can often see for sale in many clothing stores. While they resemble a beanie hat, they are usually made from stiffer material and appropriate for more formal occasions.

Understanding Lady Hat Sizing

Lady hats are usually sized from small to large and in some cases to extra large. But there are some manufacturers that don't size their hats. In such case, find out the size of a hat by measuring its interior with a measuring tape. When buying hats online, it is a good idea to ask the seller for the hat's measurements, if not listed already.
